How it works

One module. Three ways to train it.

Every module has a Learn, a Do and a Fly part. Start anywhere, repeat any step. Your progress follows you.

01 Learn

Know what good looks like.

Short briefings and visuals, before you touch the controls.

Phone, tablet, laptop

02 Do

Fly it in a sim.

We load the glider, field, weather and start position. You get scored and debriefed.

X-Plane, MSFS or Condor 3 at home, or a club sim

03 Fly

Take it to the glider.

Fly with an instructor who already sees your sim record. Less relearning, more flying.

Soaring clubs and schools

For clubs and schools

Own your ground school.

Soar runs on your gliders, your field and your launch method, under your club's name. Students arrive at the flight line having already flown the lesson in the sim, and your instructors see where each one is before they strap in.

  • Fewer wasted launches. Students practice in the sim, not on the tow.
  • More from your instructors. Their time goes to flying, not repeating the briefing.
  • Your club, your record. Members, progress and sign-offs stay with you.

More reasons to join

Fly anywhere

At home, in a club sim, in the glider. Same module, same standard.

15 modules, 51 hours

Every module maps to the FAA glider standard.

A debrief after every flight

Why Soar

Sim time that counts.

Most ground school is a video and a quiz. Here every flight has a purpose, a standard and a debrief, and your record goes with you to your instructor.

Frequently asked questions

What is Soar?

A glider ground school you fly. Fifteen modules, each with a briefing, a sim flight and a real flight with your instructor.

What is Learn, Do, Fly?

Learn is the briefing. Do is the sim exercise. Fly is the real glider with an instructor. Use one, two or all three, in any order.

What sim do I need?

X-Plane, MSFS or Condor 3 at home, or the sim at your club. A joystick helps but is optional.

Does a home sim feel like a real glider?

For launch procedure, thermalling, the pattern, radio and decisions, mostly yes. Stick and rudder feel is different and your instructor will tell you where.

Does sim time count as flight time?

Soar logs sim sessions separately from glider hours. Your instructor decides what goes in your logbook.

Do I need a club?

To fly a real glider, yes: a club or school and a certified instructor.

How much does it cost?

The first module is free. Early access is free during the preview.

Can the AI guide get things wrong?

It stays on flying, shows its sources, and sends anything it's unsure about to a person.

I'm under 18.

That's most of our students. A parent or guardian approves your account.
