VFR Exercise Suite
EAA Proficiency365™
Five (5) simulation mission exercises designed for skill building. Includes situations with density altitude, short field landings, situational awareness, communications, and emergencies.
About the VFR Exercise Suite
The VFR mission exercise suite provides you with the opportunity to "fly" under different circumstances and scenarios. These mission exercises can be flown on any one of the Redbird Flight Simulation devices in our flight training network. Choose from five (5) Visual Flight Rules (VFR) mission exercises

Night Flight
Night flight can be as visually challenging as flying in IMC. Even as a VFR only pilot, you can still use your instruments to orient yourself in the dark. In this mission, Rwy 7 has both an ILS and a WAAS GPS approach, so you've got two vertical advisory opportunities.

Johnson Creek
You're positioned at the end of a grass strip, ready for departure from a field high in the mountains of Idaho. The pattern can be busy this time of year. You'll want to maximize your power on takeoff so get ready.

Three Wire
Naval aviators train to hook the three wire on the deck of the boat, but you don't have a tail hook on your Cessna 172. You'll need to come in slow and on target to avoid getting wet. Fortunately, there is a head wind.

What to Expect
Each of the VFR missions were professionally developed and designed for optimum performance on a Redbird ATD. Special coding and data enhancements provide a realistic and rewarding training experience.

What You'll Learn
Repetition and mistakes make for good learning. And the sim is a better classroom than the airplane. As exercises these missions are designed for skill building, embedding procedures and creating muscle memory.

What to Bring
After you self-qualify your sim and schedule your tech check you'll receive an email with a check list to help you get your machine ready for remote training. The key elements are your ATD, a ZOOM account and a good HD camera.
