Long Hot Summer

EAA Proficiency365™

A VFR scenario that deals with weather.  Summer time in the south breeds convective activity so we need to be looking for trouble.

Note:  Requires G1000 panel with active MFD

About "Long Hot Summer"

Scenario Type: VFR

It’s another hot August day and you’re planning a cross country to Smith Island on the North Carolina coast for some beach time. The weather is technically VFR but there are scattered thunderstorms reported in the area that you’ll need to look out for. Fortunately your airplane has on-board weather so you will be able to see any convective activity on your Nexrad capable G1000. The terrain is flat along your route so if you need to dip down below the scud you should be alright.  Just watch out for the billboards along NC 53.

What You'll Learn

While mission exercises are for skill building scenarios require a pilot in training to use their expertise in a real world situation.  Then add decision making to the mix.  Scenarios rely on judgement calls from a true pilot in command.

What to Bring

After you self-qualify your sim and schedule your tech check you'll receive an email with a check list to help you get your machine ready for remote training.  The key elements are your ATD, a ZOOM account and a good HD camera.
