Circle to Land
You’re wrapping up a quick local IFR flight around Long Beach, CA. The past 3 approaches have gone swimmingly, so now it’s time to head home. You’re planning to finish up with the ILS RWY 30 approach but you’ve just learned of a disabled aircraft on the runway. This was not the plan.
It’s time to break out one of the more interesting tools in your IFR bag of tricks, the circle to land. The good news is Long Beach has 5 runways, so 80% of them are still available (including RW 25R)!!
