VFR SCENARIO #2

Summer Camping at Johnson Creek

Scenario of the Day:  Tuesday 7/25 & Sunday 7/30

You have decided to attend a Recreational Flying Association (RAF) fly-in at Johnson Creek.  Although you have trained with Patrick Romano this will be the first time that you have flown into a mountain airstrip by yourself.  You handle the challenge on the inbound leg and have a great time with the other pilots, but now it's time to leave.

Very shortly after departing for home you realize you have left your camera sitting by the fire pit and you will have to return to Johnson Creek to get it.  As you set up for final there are several other pilots taxiing for departure and sequencing is on you and the other pilots to coordinate.

This scenario has several challenges that will test your airmanship, aircraft management and situational awareness.  As you fly a high-density altitude departure to an impromptu return to the field with the potential for a go-around, keep checking your aircraft configuration as you maneuver.
